Packaging is Just as Important

Valentines day was coming up and as usual, I kept putting off preparing gifts for that important day. After I finally got my act together and went out and bought the necessary items to pack and give, I realized that I had not bought the necessary boxes. One of the items I bought was candy which meant I would need candy boxes to send them in. Not just any candy box but a heart shaped one. So I went about on the internet and found some boxes that I liked. They were do-it-yourself boxes made with paper mache, which meant all you had to do after buying them was to decorate them. They already came in the shape of a heart, which makes life a lot easier.

However, there was only one problem. And that was that they cost a little bit more than I was willing to pay for. This was disappointing, to say the least. I even thought about making my own boxes from scratch. But after a little bit more investigation I managed to find some heart shaped candy boxes that fit my budget. They were available at Target and once I bought them all I had to do was decorate them. To make life more convenient they already came with lids that were flat. So I went to work after buying them. The items I used to decorate the boxes were colored paper, glue, colored pens, non-toxic paint, and a pair of scissors.

Instructions on How to Decorate the Boxes
The first step is to paint the boxes with colors of your choice. This includes the lid as well as the bottom of the box. After the paint dries then you can proceed to decorate the box with designs of your choice. This could be hand drawn pictures or stickers and even glitter. Some people like to trace the heart shaped lid on a paper, then cut it out and glue it on the lid. The types of designs and style or colors a person can do on a box is only limited by the persons imagination. Even when it comes to what goes inside the box there are no rules. You don’t have to send store bought candy. Some people choose to make their own treats and send it. The following is a popular recipe for chocolate cereal truffles.

You will need two and a half cups of fruit loops, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 1 can marshmallow cream, 2 bags of white chocolate morsels, food coloring and sprinkles.

First, melt one bag white chocolate and leave it in a bowl, then add condensed milk, fruit loops, marshmallow cream. After mixing all of these thoroughly, pour it into a loaf pan that has been lined with parchment paper. Place it in a freezer and let it sit there for about three hours.

After the prescribed time, it can be taken out and scraped out with a spoon and made into balls. These then can be put on a tray and back into the fridge. At this point, the second bag of chocolate can be melted and food coloring of your choice can be mixed in.Afterward, the chocolate balls can be dipped in the colored chocolate. Lastly, do not forget to line the candy packaging with paper before putting the truffles in them.
